Miss Nicole was a foster parent for over six years. Her love for youth in foster care and her love for the preschool came together to create one of the biggest service projects The Cat and the Fiddle has ever seen!
Typically, a child entering foster care has little or nothing with them and it can be very unsettling and scary. Nicole wanted to help ease that transition and had a goal to create transition care kits for those entering the foster care system. The idea was to provide something that would be just for the children and provide some comfort. The goal was to create ten total bags with the help of the preschool. What she did not anticipate was the overwhelming support of the entire nation stepping in!
With everyone’s help, we completed 175 transition kits with hundreds of other items to help create more. We provided new cribs, car seats, hundreds of diapers, and more, all in the name of helping those in foster care!
